This week was spent entirely on the 3to1 Studios: Slightly Touched Game Jam. The jam was 5 days long, required the use of multi-touch, and had the theme of Mad.

For this jam, I worked with a team of 13 people to create Annihilation Simulation, a sandbox god sim where you are a mad god coming to smite an island in the sky.

I'm fairly proud of this game as it has a surprising number of complex mechanisms in it from a custom gesture recognizer to chaos destruction and it is probably the best looking game I've worked on so far.

The game does have a few minor issues mainly relating to startup, performance, AI, and UI. On startup, the map suddenly up[dates and several poorly placed props go flying. The game also slows down due to some of the meshes being fractured too many times for chaos physics. The NPC in the map also glitches out for unknown reasons and start walking in the sky, and the UI is poorly designed and lacking. All of these issues were caused by a lack of time; however, they are all fairly minor and don't impact the gameplay dramatically. There is one major caveat for the game: it is untested as it is designed to be played on a touch tablet that is unavailable to us due to spring break. So the game likely has bugs that are undiscovered as of the writing of this post.
