Mini Jam 111

I recently participated in Mini Jam 111 which had the theme of Colors² and the restriction of You are your own enemy. For this jam, we made Pew Pew Splat Splat.

I think the game turned out really well, especially considering that this was a 2-person team with no artists on it. The concept was very simple and took a bit of iteration to get to a somewhat fun state, but I think that both the gameplay and art fit the theme very well. Its biggest problem would probably be the somewhat monotonous gameplay.

One of the reasons why the jam turned out well was the simplicity of our idea as we were able to complete the gameplay very quickly allowing for us to spend time on the visuals and sound effects.

I also used this jam to test out my pixel art shader and I think the shader looked quite good in the game and really helped cover up our mediocre models and lack of textures.
