Trailer
This week was spent mostly on creating the trailer for the Steam release of the game. I attempted to follow the structure presented in this GDC talk, where the trailer starts with a cold open, then teaches the basics of the game, and slowly ramps up the intensity until it climaxes. For the voiceover, I used an AI voice tool.
Bug Fixes & Settings
I also spent a good amount of time fixing small bugs, like incorrect zoom on the map, some sprites appearing in front when they shouldn't, and making scroll selection work again. I also implemented a proper settings menu with resolution options. After finishing up some balance changes I uploaded the patch to itch and moved on.
Promotional Art
Since my 2D art skills are far too weak to make anything all that good I decided to set up a scene in the engine with a few additional models made in Blender as the background for my promotional art. It took several iterations and some feedback from my family, but I think I'm happy with the results.
