This last week was spent making finishing touches to the game for our alpha playtest and rescoping the game after receiving feedback during the playtest.


In preparation for the playtest, I finished up the last of the new weapons and spent a bunch of time fixing tiny issues and helping the team assemble the game into a playable level. Here is a gameplay clip from the playable level:


After the playtest, it was clear that we needed to make major changes going forward. The biggest of these changes was that we decided to cut our game from 4 short levels into one medium-length level. Additionally, we decided to simplify the melee weapons and change almost all the gears.


In response to the playtests, I started by improving the workbench to make it more useable, since we had several people complain about it during the playtest. I then reworked all of the weapons to match their new specifications.
